About Donewell
Donewell is a checklist your staff sign off item by item on their phone, with photo proof where it matters and a digest of anything missed in your inbox by morning.
It is built and run by one person, Tanner. There is no sales team to get past and no demo to book: you start a location, you set a checklist up in about ten minutes, and if it does not fit your restaurant you cancel from the settings page.
Why does Donewell exist?
Because of one gap. An owner-operator who is standing in the building at 11:40 pm does not need software — they can see whether the chairs are up. The owner who is not there has only two options today: trust, or a clipboard by the back door that says a closing crew wrote initials at some point. Neither is evidence. What is actually being sold here is evidence: a name, a time, and a photograph of the walk-in taken on the spot rather than remembered the next morning.
The competitor is the clipboard, not other software. Most of the restaurants this is built for have no operations tool at all — half have a laminated sheet from 2019 and half have the list in somebody's head.
Who is it for?
Independent restaurants, bars and cafés with one to five locations and no existing ops software. Not franchisees: brand standards pushed down from a head office are a different product with a different price, and building for both means building well for neither.
What does Donewell deliberately not do?
No time clock and no scheduling. Both touch whether people get paid correctly, both generate the 2am support call that a one-person company cannot answer, and both are given away free elsewhere. There is also no gamification of any kind: no streaks, no confetti, no scores. A closing crew is doing a job at midnight, and a product that congratulates them for it is a product they will resent.
What is the free part?
The template checklists on this site. Every one of them is complete, usable in the browser, and asks for nothing — no email, no account, no download. If a printed version of one of those lists fixes your closing problem, it fixed your closing problem, and that is a fair outcome.
